Introduction
In the village of architectural heritage, Krapje, there is a rich ethnographic collection located in the home and yard of the Palaić family. The collection consists of more than 170 objects, primarily made of textiles, wood, and ceramics.
The ethnographic items are the products of folk handicrafts made by self-taught artisans and traditional craftsmen. All items are connected to the everyday life and farming practices of rural families in Krapje. They are typical of the population of Lonjsko Polje in the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
The ethnographic collection is particularly notable for its archaic forms of furniture, traditional folk costumes, and tools and devices used for textile production on a weaving loom.
Each object holds ethnographic and educational value, and together they form a collection that illustrates the way of life, clothing, livelihood, knowledge, and skills of a typical family in Krapje.
The majority of the items are housed in a traditional wooden two-story house that stands out for its authentic form of Posavina architecture.
