The very purpose of the Jasenovac Memorial Site (JUSP Jasenovac) is to honor and preserve the memory of all the victims of the Jasenovac concentration camp, to condemn the motives behind the establishment of this camp, and to denounce all crimes committed there, ensuring that such atrocities are never repeated.
In addition to the memorial site in Jasenovac, JUSP Jasenovac is responsible for preserving the authentic camp building Kula and the camp cemetery in Stara Gradiška, the Roma cemetery in Uštica, as well as the mass graves in Krapje, Mlaka, and Jablanac.
Alongside the Memorial Museum, the Jasenovac Memorial Site also operates an Educational Center. In remembrance of all the victims of Jasenovac, the site serves as a place for reflection, learning, and research—a place for developing personal beliefs and fostering active resistance against evil and crime. At the same time, it stands as a place to embrace the values of human life and the moral principles essential to humanity.
Jasenovac is a place from which every visitor should leave with a firm message: the crimes committed at Jasenovac must never happen again, anywhere or to anyone. Differences among people, cultures, and nationalities should be respected, communicated, and learned from—never used as a pretext for crimes against humanity.
