Natura SMŽ

Educational and Presentation Center

The Natura SMŽ Educational and Presentation Center was established as part of the project “Sustainable Regional Development through the Inclusion of Natural Heritage by Establishing the Natura SMŽ Educational and Presentation Center”, funded by the European Union and the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds. The center was designed to promote the natural values and wealth of Sisak-Moslavina County and to educate visitors on their conservation.

The center presents information using modern technology as well as traditional methods.

In addition to the center itself, three thematic viewpoints and four information points have been built.
Visitors can learn about the plant and animal life of the region in both modern and traditional ways, including topics such as wolves, pedunculate oak trees, chestnut forests, and bats. They can also experience the Pannonian Sea and the rivers of Sisak-Moslavina County.

The establishment of the Natura SMŽ Educational and Presentation Center enables the presentation of the natural heritage of Sisak-Moslavina County, its protected areas, and sites within the Natura 2000 ecological network. The new center serves as a place for learning about natural processes and the environment that surrounds us and of which we are an integral part. It combines traditional and innovative methods of acquiring knowledge.

The center encourages broader community involvement in preserving natural heritage and promotes balanced regional development.
